MYLABS AI Companion

The Windows helper for the MYLABS AI product family. With Peerglass, it turns an approved viewer's taps and text into real clicks and keystrokes on your PC, only when you connect and arm it.

Previously called MYLABS Companion. An installed copy showing the earlier name still works with Peerglass. Version 1.2 adds separate, notification-only pairing for ClearHours and DocStudio. If your Store has not offered 1.2 yet, keep using those web apps until it arrives. The portable v1.1.1 download supports Peerglass only.

Set up your app: ClearHours · DocStudio. Install once, open Companion, then enter the six-digit code for each app. Accounts and action confirmations stay in each website.

With Companion 1.3 or newer, you can choose an optional MYLABS desktop avatar. Use Show avatar, Hide avatar and Mute app notifications in the tray menu. Mute keeps pairing and remote-control safety alerts on. If your installed version is older, check Microsoft Store for the update when available.

Install from Microsoft Store Recommended · installation and updates Download portable EXE v1.1.1 · ~77 KB Windows 10 and 11 on x64 PCs, and Windows 11 on Arm. Not yet available for macOS or Linux.

Three steps.

  1. 1
    Install or run it.

When the Microsoft Store button is available, install there and choose Open. Or run the downloaded PeerglassCompanion.exe; that portable file does not install. A lens icon appears in the tray by the clock. It starts off — it will not move anything until you arm it.

  2. 2
    Pair your browser.

Return to your original Peerglass sharing tab and start sharing. With the Store version, select Open installed app; with the portable download, run the file yourself. When the page says the companion is running, select Pair with MYLABS AI Companion. The app shows a 6-digit code; type it into the page. Your browser is then remembered until you forget it from the tray menu, or after 90 days without use.

  3. 3
Arm it when you want real clicks.

Right-click the tray icon → arm (it asks you to confirm). The page picks it up by itself, and a granted viewer's taps now land as clicks.

What it does, and does not.

•
Listens only on this computer. It binds 127.0.0.1 and refuses anything from the network. A page can reach it only from your own browser.
•
Does nothing until you arm it. Out of the box it is a dry run: it reports what a viewer would do and moves nothing. Arming is a deliberate click behind a confirmation.
•
Only your browser, only what you allow. This release pairs with peerglass.app, and only after you type the code the app shows on this PC. The pairing token never crosses the connection. Your browser's key crosses this PC's loopback connection once, when the browser pairs, and never again; after that the page and the app each prove they hold it. Pointer, click and typing are on by default; right-click is off until you turn it on, because a menu can hold a destructive entry.
•
Text input never presses Enter. Review typed text before submitting. Approved viewers can still click buttons, so only allow people you trust.
•
Easy to remove. The Microsoft Store version is removed in Windows Settings > Apps. For the portable download, turn off Start when I sign in, quit, and delete the file. Both keep only the pairing token and browsers you paired in your user profile.
The portable EXE download is unsigned, so Windows cannot verify its publisher. SmartScreen or your organization may warn or block that download. Keep security protections enabled; use your organization’s approved installation process. The Microsoft Store installation is the recommended option.
